Hi, my name is Jenny and welcome to my site. jennylovesbenny is my label, so who's Benny?
He's my beloved pet dog living in my family home in Oz who I miss All SO MUCH whilst I was living/working in the UK for 4 years! That's how ''jennylovesbenny'' came about! :D
I've since moved back to Melbourne, Australia and have adopted a new family member "Walter", a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel crossed with a Pug...and I love him just as much but I think 'jennylovesbennyANDwalter' might be a bit too much! LOL
My passion for 'collectable' bears grew when I received my first 'hand-made' bear from a very special friend. I started to create and make my own bears, initially for friends as gifts and very quickly, it became an addiction (which I'm sure a lot of you understand!).
In 2005, I returned home to Australia and started making bears full time, there was just so many creations stored inside my head and I must bring them to life!!!
Half the fun for me is designing the bear, I love the freedom of having no boundaries and I can give the bear whatever shape I like! I designed all my bears and a lot of my inspiration stems from beautiful things. When I see a piece of mohair I like, I can start to envisage a bear in my head then it's to the sketch pad. I'll sketch away until I'm satisfied. Sometimes the result of the sketching doesn't work, usually I would find that out after the stuffing phase! doh
My moods also plays a huge part in my designs. If I'm in a happy mood, it'll usually be a bright coloured bear with a more wacky design, if I'm in a snuggle up in front of a fire mood then it'll be earthy/natural colours and more traditional looking.
Over the years, my bears have evolved as I'm being constantly inspired and by challenging myself. I'm not sure where my designs will take me in the future, but I hope it'll be a nice surprise for everyone!
Recently I also fell in love with colourful cheery Japanese anime bears! Such happy little critters and I love how their cheeky faces never cease to make me smile.! :D
In addition to creating bears, most of my bear designs are also available as patterns and kits. The patterns are designed to be simple and easy to make, making it easy so that EVERYONE can create their own beloved jennylovesbenny bears.
I love designing and creating my bears and bring them to life, I hope they bring endless smiles and happiness to you.
